I started a dog walking business. I am now kats pawz n clawz dog walking llc. I am a sole proprietor and have no employees. Is it best to use my own social security number or file for a tax id number. I don't know which is best. I foresee making about $600-800 a month. I

A tax number will be needed if you have employees and/or if you incorporate your business.

It will do nothing for you, at what you have described.

However, if you anticipate ever having employees, then get the Employer Identification Number (EIN) now while you have the time.
