    Tooth extraction
I had a tooth removed 5 days ago an am scared that am going to get dry socket the clot is still there but it's a yellow colour is that normal? There is also a bit of bone at the back is that normal? I don't have pain but I am a smoker and worried

Were you told to stop smoking until the space has healed? Sucking action with cigarettes and using straws can dislodge the clot.

You should have been given after-care instructions.

The clot may be absorbing nicotine (yellow). I strongly suggest you smoke as little as possible.

Mine stayed white (and I don't smoke).

The plug is very absorbent, so would pick up nicotine (yellow) when you smoke.

You DO NOT want to make sucking motions and lose the plug too soon and end up with a dry socket.

I know this but I can't just stop smoking!
All I wanted to know is if the colouring was normal...

No, the coloring is not normal. I wish you luck. There is no pain like a dry-socket pain (except giving birth).
