    Deadbeat father refusing paternity test
My child's father, who has done absolutely nothing for my baby and is cold-heartedly denying her and slandering her innocent being on Facebook is telling me that he will not take a DNA test.. reason being.. because I refuse to spend time with him or talk to him about anything other than our child. I'm always encouraging him to spend time with her, but he doesn't want to if he can't have me. He has embarrassed me and totalled our relationship.. he doesn't even ask about the baby when he calls, nor does he spend adequate time.. 10 minutes with her and the rest of the time he wants to spend stuck under me. It's not fair to my daughter and I will not allow him to treat her this way. What happens if he refuses to comply?

I don't think anything would happen if he refuses. My biological dad never did anything for me and I rarely spent time with him and he refused to take a paternity test and nothing happened. Now if he take you to court and wants a paternity test then he must take it. But other than that I don't think anything else can happen if he refuses.

YOU should go to COURT and get CHILD SUPPORT ordered.

They will COURT ORDER him to take a DNA test to prove paternity.

What makes you or him think he has a choice? As Synnen said you go to court and file for Child Support. If he denies paternity, the court will order a test done. Any test done outside of court is meaningless anyway as the court will require their own testing.

If he refuses a court ordered test they will issue a contempt warrant and force a test.

When he is ordered to pay child support by the court, he will be held in contempt of court for refusal to follow the court order. They court may detain him or fine him if he does not test. Or they may declare him the father and order him to pay support.

It appears you are fighting this on Facebook, not in front of a judge

Thanks for the answers.. let me further elaborate. I've filed for child support and the test that he claims he will refuse is the test offered by them, and as far as Facebook, I've done no arguing.. just read what was posted by him.

If the test is court ordered, if he refuses, then he will be jailed for contempt or the support award will be entered as default.
