    Dryer Drum Squeak
Have a Hotpoint electric dryer about twenty years old. Recently replaced the belt. After several uses dryer has developed a for lack of bettetr words a cyclic squeek. Starts OK but begins to squeek in about a minute. If I move the drum around squeek stops for about the same length of time. Thanks, Jim

It's the drum bearing. When you changed the belt did you tear it totally down and clean it right? If not that's the problem. Take it apart again and scrape out all air passages and use white lithium grease on the bearings. If you have not already ruined the bearing on the drum this will fix it. If it's scored you should replace it. It's really cheap and you can look on YouTube to see how to do it.
