I have two female cats; one is three yo and one, 13. They co-exist, but don't necessarily get along. Recently, I made the decision to go from two litter boxes to one because of space issues. Bad idea, I'm thinking... one of the cats now has gone in the dining room and living room, more than once; poop and urine...

Anyone had that same issue? HELP!

Yes, I have had cats who refused to share a box. Even though you don't want to take up the space, you may need to go back to separate boxes.

I have four cats and four litter boxes, partly because two of the females refuse to share the same one (they do a sniff test before using any) and partly for the cats' convenience.
