Early termination of lease in Florida due to job loss
    Termination lease Florida

My husband has just lost his job. We will only be able to pay one more month. Our lease is until Jan5. We have the clause that allows us to pay 1000 to get out of the lease. What if we don't have that 1000?

Then you get evicted and sued for that money... and when you do have it it will get garnished. By the landlord when he wins... and it will haunt your credit reports for years to come.

And he can sue you for the full value of the remainder of the lease.

It would be in your interest to borrow that money off someone if you can.

Talk to your landlord, he may be willing to let you out rather than go through the expense of an eviction.

But FL is the worst state to break a lease as they don't have to try and rent to someone else.
