I got pregnant by a man I'd known my whole life, after we were together for 3 months. He was very abusive to me, both physical and mental. I found out after I left him and I don't want him to hurt me or try anything.. I'm 15wks.. I would rather he never know,I don't know what to do.. help!

You have a moral obligation to do so. You owe it to your child to get child support. If you have to ask for public assistance, they will insist you name the father ans they will go after him for support.

If you have known him all your life, then why did you have sex with someone who was very abusive to you?

I will agree, first where is this, some nations will have stricter laws.

But the father of the child has a right to know he has a child. If you or if the child gets any type of public assistance what so ever, they will require you to give a name. Next he will most likely hear you are pregnant or find out you had a child, so he will figure it out, and be really mad that you hid it from him. Also if you hide it and he finds out, he will have a better chance in court to get more time with child,

Since he was abusivie I am sure you have copies of police reports, hospital reports of injury to prove your case in court.

Next the child has a right to first know who their father is, and they will ask when they get older and the child may be very hateful that you denied him that, Next the child has a right to the money from the child support for his care.

He changed when we did have sex. He wasn't always abusive to me. I also found out he was using meth.I wasn't planning on seeking child support... but I do agree the child has the right to know, he just turned out to be someone I wish I'd never known.( My fault)

I'm in Georgia... I don't plan on seeking support. I'm really afraid of what he and his family would do to me... I didn't want this to happen and thought I had protected myself.. I also found out he was/is on meth.

You don't have a lot of choice. You made a decision to have sex with him. There were consequences to that decision for both you and your child. You and your child have to live with those consequences.

You may be able to get only supervised visitation. You shortchange your child by not going after support.
