I am 56, postmenopausal minimum 4yrs, had a little vaginal bleeding about 4mths back (qty say a dessertspoonful), bright red. Had some abdominal pain and cramping, simultaneously with a little diarrhea. Minor spotting (brown) the following day, then none for a day or two, then passed a small clot (little finger nail size) bright red within a week. Occasional spotting over the next two days. No pain with any of the latter events. No further bleeding or spotting. Some clear discharge to date (as when before menopause),
GP referred to Gyn. Had TVU, clear & within normal limits endometrium <4mm. Pap test normal. Papille could not be done cervix closed (age). Polyp spotted during exam.
Next step Gyn requests is hysteroscopy AND D&C under anaesthetic.
Do not handle anaesthetics or D&Cs well. Very bad past experiences with complications. Also suffer severe basilar migraine which is aggravated by stress.
Anaesthetics local & general set off basilar episodes resembling stroke. Family history of epilepsy.
