Check all under dash and under hood fuses with a test light or multimeter.

If you had checked for power through the fuses, using a test light or multimeter, you would likely have found out that power did not pass through several fuses in the under dash fuse box. That would have led to the recommendation that you check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

I did check using a test light one fuse wouldn't turn on it was the starter signal fuse would that have to do anything with the lights?

Good--you did it right! The starter signal fuse usually requires the clutch pedal to be depressed (neutral safety switch) and the ignition switch turned to Start. Still, I would check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting. I don't know what else would cause the dash lights not to come on.

Mine is automatic. Ive checked online and it says it might be my dimmer switch took it out and put it in my cousins honda and its no good tried his switch in my honda lights still didn't come on. The wires are cut though from the plug they just taped them back on would that not make the switch work?
