So I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid and it has been really bothering me for some reason that I can't remember it. It is about a kid, I think a boy, who finds a creature, possibly an alien or maybe a kid sasquatch. The creature is the focus of the whole film. He is a kids height and a little chubby, but covered in fur, almost like a little ALF. Anyway, the kid tries to help the creature hide, etc. There is a treehouse as well that I think they use to hide it in.

I remember seeing this in either the late 80s or early 90s. I am also pretty sure that it was shown on Wonderful World of Disney because I watched that every week and the two memories seem to go together. This may mean that it was a made for TV movie because they were known for doing that a lot back then. I have searched their information, but found nothing.

Could it be Pod People? I've only seen the MST3K episode ("Mystery Science Theater 3000" Pod People (TV episode 1991) - IMDb) but that was about a boy who finds a fur-covered alien that's kid-sized, and was made in 1983.
