Can the courts give him the house? I want to sell it so I can get my share out of it. Yes he makes the house payments because he makes more money, I had to quit my job because our car broke down and he won't buy another car until we are divorced. His lawyer told him not too. So I'm going to lose everything I guess after 24 years

Is the house paid for, Or is there a loan on the house ? If you get the house how are you going to make the payments ?

Whose name is the house in, just his or both ? What state is this in ?

The court may make the house be sold or one have to buy the other out,

But why should he buy you a car ? You have to start working and paying your own bills.

    And y

The house is in both our names, because we are in Texas. I don't expect him to buy me a car even though I'm still his wife,I haven't even been served. He could help me and rent me a car until I get my first check then I can rent my own car and he car stick his money where the sun doesn't shine. I want the house to be sold, we do still own money on the house.by the way after our car broke down he told e to quit working.

What you can and should do is ask for alimony and request that it happens right away. The duration of the marriage has been long enough that the request should go through. That way you will have funds available for you to also have a life after divorce.
