I have a 2011 harley davidson heritage softtail classic. When I travel at slow speeds (50-60 km/hr) and hit any minor bumps such as cracks or frost eaves I hear a clicking noise in the front end. I took it to a dealer yesterday and they said I had a loose steering head. They adjusted this but the problem is still there. I have 14000kms on the bike and only noticed this for the 1st time yesterday. Anyone know what this is?

They might be in the right area... maybe the bearings themselves are bad. A friend of mine has a Suzuki Boulevard and had a noise like that when hitting bumps. His dealer also said loose bearings and did the adjustment. Anyway, long story short, the noise was still there and he discovered on his own that the bearings were bad. The OEM bearings have a plastic cage and it was worn out. The replacement bearings were all metal so they should last longer.

The bearings are fine. Any other ideas?

I'm talking about the steering stem bearings, not wheel bearings. Were they checked or just adjusted?

Yes the Dealer in Prince George checked them on Saturday (At least that's what they told me)
