    Particles in water faucets
I have black grime coming out of the base of my faucets and also from around the top of my single lever faucet. I know it is not getting into the water supply but cannot find where the black grime is coming from. Also, my wife claims that in one faucet in her bathroom that dirt particles are appearing in her water glass upon use. The problem of dirt particles can be solved with a main filter on whole house system but other confuses me. Do you have any ideas?

That sounds like you are talking about the exterior surface of the fixtures. If that is correct the black particles won't be coming from the water supply unless you have a leak.

Assuming you have a forced air heating and cooling system, check that as possible source.

These "black particles". Are they hard or can you "squish" them between your fingers? Let me know, Tom
