No we have not seen each other in person yet, I am going to kuala lumpur to spend time with him and get to really know him and yes we met online, we send pictures to each other and we email and talk on the phone everyday

There's a huge dating scam going on in Nigeria and Ghana, often scamming Canadians and people from the US. Money is eventually needed for something--a lost business, a used car is needed, etc.

It's good you are going to meet him first to make sure he is real--and get to know him. Be sure to do that. I wouldn't send more money until you know he really exists.

In all likelihood, you are being scammed for your money. This is a well known scam that is going on and has been for years.

No it most likely means it is a scam, basic dating fraud.

Nigeria and places like that are well known for it. Plus when you send western union it can be picked up anywhere in the world, they do not have to be where they say.

And it is easy, they get a tourist visa to the US, for 140 dollars or so, and get on a plane and come, you all visit, get to know each other and if marriage is going to happen, he applies for a change in his visa from the US.

But most likely he is not real, photos are faked or stolen, most likely he is a 50 year old man or a 60 year old grandma working at a company that does nothing but send out dating messages. I got over 10 today, two on Facebook, and one on skype tonight telling me how they loved my profile. Right, I guess they love old bald men.

So even if you went there, he would not be there.

Have you done any video skype to really see him, how about internet telephone calls ?

We have been video talking for months ,emailing and phone calling each other everyday now for months. We have talk and email for over a year now,we send pictures to each other all the time.so do you still think it's a scam.

You said you are going there to meet him. So do that. Just don't send him more money right now.

We video talk through skype each other all the time and like I said we send each other pictures all the time. The man I see is the one in all the pictures.I haven't sent any money lately. You know when I go over there ,I'm staying in a hotel and we are meeting in a public place. We are going to public tours together before I even plan on being alone with him. I'm not being stupid about this at all . I'm making copies of my passport,drivrs licence and all my important papers to leave here at home just in case.
