Life's getting significantly harder as health issues emerge at 24!
Hi... I'm suffering from cervical spondylosis over the last three months. The pain which radiates twenty four seven from my neck to the back of head, shoulders, arms and upper back is so unbearable that I cannot lead a normal life. I'm well aware that no potential treatments are currently available assuring full recovery other than surgery given its pros and cons. It was a blow on my head as this condition aroused despite having so many other issues in life. I hardly see how my future is going to unfold considering the fact that I haven't even turned 25.

Does anyone here have the same situation? Do you find any sort of treatment soothing pain? Longing for your replies thereby some relief! :(

This is a medical diagnosis (not your own)?

Have you gone to a well-respected, experienced chiropractor?

Yes the doc diagnosed me and I have been put on pain medications which literally did nothing except damaging liver. Then he referred me to a physiotherapist that ended up futile as well.
No I haven't tried chiropractic. Do you think it would help me lower pain?

I worked as a PT aide for two years, so if that has not helped, try chiropractic (be careful and find a good one with lots of positive references). Another possibility is shiatsu (acupressure) or even acupuncture. Some insurance plans now accept and pay for alternative therapies, so check that if necessary.

Ask more questions if you have any. I went through life with a low back problem and tried every treatment known to man (even a Chinese herb doctor), so you have my total sympathy.

The very first chiropractor I went to was wonderful and a big help with pain.
The second one (after I moved farther away) not only wasn't helpful, I actually had new pain for quite a while after I stopped going.
So select one carefully and bring your X-rays, which your doctor must give you if you ask.

That was really helpful, thank you 'wondergirl' for replying as well as being so sympathetic. I'm going to search for an experienced chiropractor and see if it'll work. One thing I don't get is how I'm going to remain optimistic until sorting out a solid solution. Yes I'm depressed now because what if the pain doesn't go away? Moreover I have a history of chest pain, palpitation and shortness of breathe which were later ruled out of a possible heart condition after doing so many medical tests. It wasn't too late when this problem popped out of the blue adding fuel to fire! All together I'm not a happy person! Sometimes I think why God gave me so much pain without doing anything wrong!

I've emailed your first post to my long-time chiropractor and friend Dave to get his input.
