I'm going to assume this is your birth control pill--have you just recently started taking it? I know I had a bit of an adjustment period when I first started on mine, but after a few months my hormones had adjusted and my period was very regular and predictable. Even so, I usually expect to get it at some point during a 2-3 day span (usually 2-3 days into the placebo). So I never say "If I don't have it Sunday, I'm surely pregnant!!" If I hadn't gotten it in the next day or two, I'd start worrying. Oh, and perhaps those three days of light bleeding WAS your period--your cycle is 28 days, so it might have started a little earlier than you expected (again, if you're new on the pill, your cycle could still be settling)

It may not be anything to worry about if your body is just getting used to it, and you may just be a day late--especially if you recently started taking it, as spotting can occur unexpectedly (read your side effects packet, I'd bet it mentions that).

I'm just speaking from my experiences with Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo; it definitely wouldn't hurt to call your gyno to get her opinion since she would know your medical history and situation better than anyone here on AMHD.

As for the pregnancy test, it wouldn't hurt to take one, if you have legitimate concerns that you could be pregnant... especially if you've started taking the pill very recently and had unprotected sex. And if that's the case, I do hope you'll remember that the pill doesn't protect you from STDs, so it's ALWAYS smart to use a condom, too. :)

Good luck, and hopefully this will work out easily for you!
