    Burst Lips and Mouth Ulcers!
    Hi,
I play Gaelic football and get burst lips fairly regularly. Every time I do I get a mouth ulcer in the spot where the cut is and it drives me crazy! It takes up to a week to clear and is pretty painful/annoying. Ive been experiencing this for as long as I can remember. I'm 19, healthy and eat pretty well. Is it a vitamin deffiiency or what can I do?
    Thanks a lot

Alan, your lips are getting too dried out. Buy a small jar of vaseline and start using it. You need to heal your lips and this will do it. Before you go to sleep at night, rub it into your lips, put on a think coating. Do this for the next week. After that, just put on a light coating at night. During the daytime, keep putting on a light coating. Before a game, do the same thing. I don't know how the weather is where you are but I suspect that it is cold and dry enough to cause this problem. After a couple of weeks of this treatment, you will find that you won't have the problems anymore. Keep using the vaseline.

A good combination of vitamins, that I personally take and swear by, is the following:
Vitamin C, Vitamin B Complex, and Lysine. I take it three times a day and I do not have any problems with mouth ulcers or cold sores or anything related to that.

Ruby's suggestion is a great one and it is cheap. You can spend a small fortune on more expensive products but Vaseline works wonders. Ancient beauty secret too. Lol.
