This is my first post so apologies in advance :)

Years ago channel 4 in the u.k. use to show movie seasons i.e. Early Horror, Monster, Martial Arts etc. Every Friday night 1 or 2 films.

The film I am looking involved lots of flying about with gowns bellowing in the wind behind them as they raced through the trees (a bit crouching tiger like). There was an evil woman and some kind of Monk/wizard with a long grey beard and eyebrows and the most significant bit I remember was he would bite the tip of his finger and write a symbol on his palm in blood to produce like a fireball spell or something.

I know its not much but I was about 10 - 13 years old so I would say it was made around 80's or early 90's. This film pop's into my head all the time and I have searched key words but to no avail. Can't say weather its chinese or japanese but hope someone could help as you would save my brain.

Your question is in the right place. User113 was asking about deleting their post. Odinn was giving them the site policy on deleting posts. Sorry for the confusion.

As for the movie you are trying to find, we have several people who are great at finding the right one. However, it may take some time for them to figure out which one you are looking for.

Hi, you're talking about "A Chinese Ghost Story" (Number one, there are a few sequels). Brilliant film and still one of my favourites. He'd draw a yin/yang symbol on his palm and recite "heaven and earth are limitless!" before blasting the bucket out of the bad guys :-)
