Few days back I got on-campus employment.then I tried to apply ssn,when I went to ssn office,they gave me a letter saying that they are unable to verify my sevis status.But in the school I verified my status and it is active.Then ssn officer said that they are sending my documents to dhs.if they give clearence then they can issue ssn other wise not.what is the reason for this?

Your documentation may not have been in order. It could be almost anything.

Call and ask - "we" are just guessing.

I had the same problem. I went back and told my ISO to re-register my SEVIS status as FULLTIME F1 ACTIVE. After that, I went to the SSA one more time and my application was accepted. I hope this helps those of you who are experiencing the same problem.
