Im 18 and I met this guy. We have an incredible connection and we just clicked completely. In starting to really fall for him because, especially mentally, I feel like we are on the same page. He's 24 though; has a job and lives in a apartment. I'm going to be going to college about 2 hours wmaway from where he lives.

Gahhhh I just feel like this kind of connection is so rare and I've never experienced anything this intense.

As you are an ADULT it is entirely up to you if you pursue any relationship here.

How many of us have had 'rare connections' that fizzled anyway? It's not enough excuse to change the whole path of your life. Go to college, see him as often as you can, and if there is truly something enduring here, it will survive. College is just a bigger collection of people your age than high school was, and you are going to meet a lot of people you like. Keep in mind that many of those rare connections lose out to many mundane practicalities of daily life: careers, finances, children, houses, where you live, neatness, hours you sleep, couch potato vs activity, all blended in with the ability to compromise about the thousands of decisions two people have to make when living together.

The difference between an 18 year old and a 24 year old is, in my opinion and experience, pretty major. Especially since you haven't even started college yet, you don't know what independence is and, if he went to college, this guy is a couple of years past all of those experiences. As has been said, what you do as an adult is entirely up to you. My advice is to go to college like you planned. Have all the experiences that are supposed to be great about being on your own for those years and don't worry about losing him. Two hours apart won't ruin a relationship if it's a good one.

Thanks everyone; I wasn't planning on not going to college haha trust me, I worked too hard to get to this point on my life to let it all go for anyone. I'll just let life bring me where I'm meant to go I guess :)
