He is married, always was, never gave me a gift took me out, helped around the house, was a complete w.o.m.b.a.t. Would you have dumped him?

One day I offered him afternoon tea, so at my table hands in his pants and guess what, he is a very senior legal bloke, very high up. Hands in his pants at the table, playing away. Would you have dumped him?

I have, and I reckon I am 16 years and 364 days late.

Dump him? I never would have dated him to begin with. Dating a married man is something most moral people don't do. So no, I wouldn't have dumped him, I never would have given him the time of day to begin with.

He is a piece of crap. You obviously are not realizing you are worth more than that. Never date a married man. Who wants a guy that sleeps with his wife, lies to her, and then comes to you? Right there you know he is a snake.

I don't know, but down here in Texas a woman who can write a hilarious piece of prose as you wrote deserves much better, and should be smarter in the ways of relationships! Mum should have told you about those married men. 17 years? Didn't you meet anyone better during that time? Better to have tea with fine china, a good book, a good girlfriend to laugh with, and a warm purring cat, or whatever. You are worth more than that. Give yourself a gift of dignity. And think about publishing some great poems, cute as that one.

Shouldn't have learned to respect him and his marriage and never started dating him. Don't really think he cares that you dumped him either, just a really awesome thing to have something on the side stuck around for such a long time. A toy, and a long lasting one at that.

Once a cheater, always a cheater. He had his cake, a bit of slap and tickle, and a wife to go home to. What did the OP (original poster) get? Nothing but 17 years of her life wasted.

I do have to wonder, what did she expect? Did she think he'd leave his wife for her? Why did it take 17 years to realize that wasn't going to happen?

I hope she at least asked for money for the sexual services she provided.
