Is this a friends with benefits arrangement? Is this a potential relationship? How and why is it getting boring? Do you, or him for that matter, not want to invest in each other further?

If you want to keep him as a friend than I think you might want to stop the FwB thing. Might make things awkward for a bit. If you're wanting to go further to a Couple than I think you both need to work on opening up and being more honest with your desires, needs, and fantasies. One big reason things go boring is the unwillingness to put forth fantasies or desires that would like to be tried. For example both of your could want to be ravished on a hill side by the other, but not say anything because you're too ashamed by the 'oddness' of it.

Figure out what you want out of this friendship/relationship and than you can decide how you want to proceed.

Are both of you ready to raise a baby? You are aware having sex even with protection might result in one.
