I want to know what can I use to help my puppy ears to stand up? If there is anyone that has a pit bull that they had there ear cropped and they know what is good to help them stand please let me know what are something that can be used to do so.If anyone know how to create something that will help support them to stand. I want to appriecate anyon that leaves me a message with information. Thank You and have a blessed day. This is also a update on Marley Girl she is doing really well. I took some of you advice and switch her water and food bottle to a steel one and her mouth has cleared up and she is doing great with the weight gaining. She was small but as of today she is ten weeks and she weights 14lb and 13oz so she is getting up there. I switch her vet to another vet as well and the new vet is really nice and I doesn't have to pay all that money and not getting the service for it. The money that I spend at the new vet is worth it and I see improvement in everything that the new vet does.

I'm almost afraid to ask but who is going to crop the dog's ears?

Her vet is doing the cropping of her ears.

At any rate - the Vet who does the cropping will advise you what to do AFTER the cropping.

My understanding is that the MAXIMUM age to crop ears is 12 weeks - the dog was 7 weeks on July 7, five weeks ago.

I don't see the point of cropping unless you intend to fight the dog. I am trying very, very hard not to judge here. I can see from your other questions that you don't know a lot about dogs, particularly Pits, nor have you done any research.

You are subjecting your dog to anesthetic and the complications that can result from a surgical procedure, the surgical procedure itself, the risk of infection, the risk of damage to nerves, all of that - what? And your concern is how to make the ears stand up after the surgery?

May I join in? I've read 8-12 weeks is prime time to crop ears, but then don't do it. In fact, most sites warn heavily against it. The problems it can cause are not worth it. It's like declawing cats. *shudder*

In many places ear cropping and tail cropping is illegal. I only wish it were illegal everywhere.

It's unnecessary surgery, and pit owners do it only to get a certain look. A pit without cropped ears doesn't look as mean. Heaven forbid! (sarcasm).

What can I say, people do cruel things just because they want to look cool and tough. Sadly only the animal suffers in this case.

So far the dog has been bitten/stung by fire ants, eaten bees and had his/her ears docked - over the recommended age. I'm getting a very clear picture of the owner, not such a clear picture of the dog.

Oh, and eats plants. Not grass. Plants.
