    swollen lips
I'm getting random swelling of my lips and hands every now and then that lasts for a couple of hours and then goes away. Also, I get some spots on my wrists every now and then that come up itchy and sore but disappear after a while. What could it be? I have changed my diet to rule out an allergic reaction to food and it seems totally random...

Might not be food related... might be something environmental, certainly points at some unknown allergy. Think back are there certain soaps you only use time to time... cosmetics, etc... and also remember its possible the reaction might not occur until the next day.

Thanks Smoothy... That's the thing, I can't pinpoint anything different. A couple of times it has been after I have had a couple of cans of beer... clutching at straws a bit on that one...

How frequently does this happen? Have you been to a specialist to be tested for allergies. (they can usually find what class of item or items you have a sensitivity towards)

Reason I ask that is allergies can sometimes turn dangerous. As in your body becomes sensitized to the allergen and what has been mild reactions suddenly become a serious one when anaphylaxis happens... basicly you swell up like a balloon and your throat swells shut and you suffacate.

Not saying this will happen... or even guessing when it would... just that the possibility is there.

And I'm speaking from the perspective of a person that's had that happen to them before.

Happens once a fortnight over the last couple of months... have a GP appointment tomorrow... hopefully we can get to the bottom of it
