What do I do about my deceased husband's child support payments to his ex?
My husband recently passed away suddenly and he was making child support payments to his ex wife for their son. Am I responsible for these payments now that he is gone? We have two young children together and I would be in financial difficulties if I were to continue. His ex wife lives overseas and we live in Wisconsin, where my husband was born. I am really confused and need to get this question resolved.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If there are any late payments or payments that he is behind, his estate is liable for those.
You are not liable for the payments yourself

My condolences on your loss. His obligation to pay ceased with his death. However, his estate will be responsible for any late payments or arrears.

Has his estate been submitted for probate?
