Is it serious when a spark comes out of a plug
We just moved into a home we are leasing, built in2000, When I turn on the wall switch it sometimes pops, and sometimes I get a spark when I plug my computer in. Is this dangerous?
    Thank you ,
    Meredith

Very dangerous, don't use it, until it is fixed, call the landlord and let them know there is a short or issue with the switch and plug. It could cause a fire

It's actually not a big deal. Things like a computer power supply draw power even when off, same goes for a TV and other electronics that have a standby mode. All things like this are plugged in and out under small load. This load will cause a small spark when plugging in and out. Same goes for switches.
