Okay so back in about November last year I broke up with my boyfriend, we were going out for nearly a year, I had my first kiss with him and I really did love him and then when I moved to secondary school with him he kept dumping me and then asking me back out and then one time he didn't ask me back out! And I always think about him and I really want to go back out with him again or be really good friends with him but he's changed and now he hangs out with all the popular kids and never talks to me! Btw I'm 12 don't laugh and please help me I don't know what to do, I really love him. Thanks xx

I'm not laughing, but I have to say that this is all part of being a teen (well, almost a teen).
Feelings for bf's and gf's change on a dime, come and go like the wind. It's just a fact of life. He sounds insecure about having to hang out with a certain bunch. That's all too common too - just one person can talk you into or out of liking someone. He might like you OK and is too dependent on his group to say so. Or he might have changed! I know it hurts but you can't let it make you feel inadequate.
Teen brains just aren't designed for one on one relationships like this. You are going through so many changes it's impossible to stay with one person for long. That's why teens weren't allowed to date at all until they were about 16, and even then dating was carefully controlled, until recently. (Plus all that can go wrong with sexual immaturity and lack of knowledge and ability to be hurt.)

You dated for almost a year, so I see no reason why you can't ask him sometime if you can talk to him out of earshot of all his new friends. Just say you want to know if he could like you as a friend or did he feel he had to dump you because of his new friends - or is there something about you he just doesn't like that he will tell you (most people say 'oh no it wasn't anything about you' so in many ways it's not even worth asking that part). Don't show any anger, and try not to sound too hurt even if you are, or he will probably get uncomfortable. The trouble with putting someone on the spot is that you have to ask very, very carefully, so plan what you will say, and practice it. You don't have to act fake nonchalant either - be real, but just try to keep emotion down.
