Hi. I am 15, and I have never gotten my period. Along with that, I have no breasts. I honestly don't need to wear a bra. I just do because it gives me confidence. Anyway, I was wondering how common this was, and if I should go to the doctor? Any other women have this issue, or know when the 'ladies' may decide to grow?

The onset of puberty has a wide range of common and an even wider range of unusual, and not because of anything wrong with you. And 'experts' don't even agree on the range. I just googled 'onset puberty' and two of the first sites said 10 to 14 and 10 to 16. My periods started when I was 11, before my friends, but they had much more development physically than I did. So there is all sorts of variation. The sequence of events that start puberty are pretty complicated. It could be expensive to have hormonal testing. Are you in good health? That's what matters for now. Have a good checkup, with the usual blood tests. Do you do extreme exercise? That can stop periods.

I am a vegan, and I exercise 4 or 5 times a week, usually running or participating in tae kwon do.

    15-no period-no breasts.
Hi. So, I am 15, almost 16, and I have never gotten my period, and along with that, have no breasts. I honestly don't even need to wear a bra. I just do because it makes me feel better.

I am a vegan of 4 years and I exercise 4 or 5 times a week, usually participating in running, hiking, or tae kwon do. I have also weighed around 120 lbs since I was 13.

Any other women have this issue? Anyone have ideas of what I could/should do? Am I just being impatient, or is there something wrong? The doctor said that they won't do anything until I am 18.

You don't eat meat, you exercise a lot, you're obviously slim. Your body knows that it can't handle menstruation, so it doesn't menstruate. You need to be a healthy weight before you will start menstruating.

Anorexics don't get a period (not saying you're anorexic), many athletes don't get a period while they're training. The reason is weight ,diet, and a lot of exercise.

This very well could be due to your vegan diet and you not getting enough nutrients.

It's time to talk to your doctor about this.
