trying to find spec.s on unit charge and refrig, amounts

Of what? Brand? Model number? Does it have a weight in chart on the door of the unit since they all come with one somewhere? Every unit and install will be a different charge amount so the only way to really know is by Factory charge as listed on the unit with allowances for extra tube. OR Pressure temp chart with temps and pressures.

You liquid charge it until the suction line feels like an ice cube. Put it in a little burst at the time and wait a minute before putting more in to allow it to circulate; however, if you have not fixed the leak NEVER add gas. Also, if the problem is poor cooling and freezing up it is dirty and the coils need cleaning with coil cleaner and a 1500 psi electric pressure washer. Clean the blower fan, too. People always want to add freon when the coils get dirty and wind up ruining the unit and have to replace the entire unit because most companies will not clean an air conditioner's inside coils unless the customer really insists on it.
