    Criminal record for free
I recently applied for a job at a school district. I was denied employment because they said I had something in my background. What could it have been? How can I check with out it costing me money?

Have you asked for "proof" of what they found?

Go to the local Police Station - I have always found the State Police to be more helpful - and ask for a copy of your record.

Do you know who they used to run the background search with.

Also was it a criminal check, a credit check or a work reference check that they found something on.

You can go to the police station and get a copy of your criminal record ** there will be a small fee. But private search companies may have additional things like explunged records that still show.

    So the question is

    Where you ever arrested ?
    Where you ever convicted
Did you ever plead guilty or take some type of plea agreement
Did you ever do a first offender program.

You should know what you did in the past that may show up
