My Sears LT model 917.271041 is not getting gas from the fuel tank to the carb. I have replaced the fuel line, the fuel filter and added a fuel shutoff switch. When fuel line is disconnected at the carb, fuel flows freely, but when reconnected and engine is started I notice the fuel filter will not fill with any gas and engine will run only till the existing fuel in the line is used up. The solenoid does click when the ignition key is turned on and engine will start and run until fuel in line is depleted. Help!

The filter will not fill completely, but your description points the float and the inlet needle/seat.
