Why would your teacher give you such a dumb assignment then?
Here's one critique from his teacher, himself a famous author --
Read Aldous Huxley's review of 1984 he sent to George Orwell
It might be easiest to separate your comments from those of others, and start the paper by saying that is what you will be doing. Cite with quotation marks or start sentences with 'He believes' or other qualifiers that make it clear that you are quoting or paraphrasing, and then footnote either each sentence or a whole paragraph.
Then do your analysis at the end of the paper, or at the end of a topic within the paper.
