    Hello.

What are some famous books, or people, that criticized Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell?

It's kind of an essay I'm writing and I need to support it with critics of the novel, but I'm not sure what to use. All I need is names of people or their books if possible.

Have you been to the public library to find information? If not, why not? That's where you will find this information.

I live in a small town where there's no library. We don't even have books in our own language, let alone English ones. That's why looking books online is my only choice. Thanks for the help :)

Why would your teacher give you such a dumb assignment then?

I chose it myself actually. The only thing I couldn't find information on was the criticism of the novel.

Thanks a lot! One question; when mentioning the critiques, should I give my own opinion on them?

What does the assignment say to do? Don't you need more than one critique?

I'm supposed to analyse the novel. And I already found more critiques with the addition to the one you gave me. What are the steps you think I should follow in analysing it, please?

It might be easiest to separate your comments from those of others, and start the paper by saying that is what you will be doing. Cite with quotation marks or start sentences with 'He believes' or other qualifiers that make it clear that you are quoting or paraphrasing, and then footnote either each sentence or a whole paragraph.

Then do your analysis at the end of the paper, or at the end of a topic within the paper.

Summary of the novel including specific points that will be critiqued in the paper.
The various critiques (as joypulv noted).
Your summary and opinion of the critiques.
