    Swallowing
    Hi,
Yesterday evening I was eating a beef stir fry and watching TV, until I tried to swallow a bite but it just went to the back of my mouth where I either woukd choke or hark it back up. I harked it back up but it frightens me a little. This happens three times over the meal, and since yesterday I have no become extremely worried. I couldn't eat meals properly today as I was worried about choking. I tried to calm myself this evening and eat mash and fish but I had to think about every mouthful and got very panicky when it almost didn't go down. I'm now very upset that there's something seriously wrong and I'll never be able to eat again. Please advise . P.s I have no other symptoms.

Perhaps a allergic reaction to a spice in the food ?

Do you chew your food well or like most people swallow things half whole?

Now nerves have you and the worry is making your nervious. Going to have to just relax.
You can of course have a doctor check you out.

Swallowing is an automatic function of the body. You don't have to think about and plan to swallow, and when you start planning and thinking about swallowing it makes it a lot more difficult. You however may need to get it checked out.
That's not a medical opinion on my part, just an observation from soemone who has done more swallowing then he sreally should and has had his own experiences with difficult swallowing once in a while. See what the Dr. says but no use starting to worry about it yet.
