    EtG
I drank three vodka-lemonade drinks on Sunday and was given a random UA on Tuesday. I drank about two gallons of water mixed with pure lemon juice and cyanne pepper and a quart of Gatorade mixed with several multi vitamins in the 24 hours prior to the test. Dilution penalties aside, is this enough to sufficiently dilute a urine sample? The urine was very slightly yellow..

What time did you have the drinks on Sunday? What was the % alcohol in the drinks? It's doubtful if that amount was detectable to begin with.

... and the test was at 12:00 noon on Tuesday and was an ETS...

About 42 hours from last drink? Was the vodka added to the lemonade or was this a pre-mix. Usually the premixes are far less potent.

Better get your gender, age, height and weight. Could be close.

Assuming this was a lemonade that you added a shot of vodka to (and it didn't exceed 1.5 oz) that would amount to 5 standard drinks (US) = 70 g pure alcohol and based on your size about .86 g/kg of body weight.

Clearance time is in the vicinity of 27-44 hours for the EtG/EtS. That is using 100 ng cutoff.

Given the sensitivity of this test to water and fluids of any type that is probably enough to pull you through and show negative for the EtG. But you are at the far end of possible detection (not considering water).

The dilute urine routine can work against you. Any reading below 20 ng/mL of creatinine is considered dilute but that does not mean that the lab rejects it. When the reading is in range of 5-19 the sample is tested anyway and any EtG present would be reported as dilute positive or dilute negative as the case may be.

With EtG the water (or other liquids) is actually clearing the metabolite from your system (not dependent on dilution). So you could wind up with a dilute negative and then the test would be negated even though you were EtG clear. Get me?

Thanks for the information. The tester actually was encouraging me to down more water about a half hour before the test to get a sample. I had just urinated twice prior to the test. I drank six cups of water within 45 minutes before the test so if it's "dilute" he can only blame himself because I questioned the clear-yellow color of the sample.

That is common practice at collection sites. It is their responsibility to do the visual and temperature on site.

    DR BILL,
I know I didn't take an EtG... but I got a 10 panel today and I looked on the testing site and it says their 10 panel tests for ethanol... cut off at .04 GM/dl. I drank late Thurs starting around 11pm until about 1 or 2 am on Fri. I had 10 shots of 35% alc by volume rum. I took my test today, sat, around 5:30 pm. I'm a female,5'8",140 lbs, and little to no exercise. It also says that if its at or above the .04 they will presume positive and do a urine confirmation which reads at .02GM... so will it show up? The EtG for them is 100 ng...
PS I'm new on here and don't know how to directly ask a person
