Hi there,my last period ended the 4th of July and I was suppose to start my period again on the 1st of aug but it never came.I took a home pregnancy test this afternoon(I'm 8days late)but it was negative,can it be wrong?I have been feeling more tired than usual,my boobs hurt,eating like there is no tomorrow and I have been getting cramps.please help!

Very likely, first you are only "late" from your estimate start date, only one or two days late from the time your period would have been going on. So your period of course could just be late.

Next you did not take it first thing in the morning, the earlier tests should always be first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up with first urine of the day.

Try again in the morning and get back to us. If still negative wait a week and try again, some home tests don't work on all women till even up to second month of pregnancy

Thanks chuck.ill do another test tomorrow morining first thing.will that hcg hormone be present by now?I read some posts of otherwoman,a lot of them said after many home pregnancy tests and weeks that went by the test still said negative.. until they did a blood test.

It "may" still a bit early, but it will be highest in the morning. For a best result you can get.

That is why if it is negative and no period, you try every week or two and if after about 3 week late you can go into the doctor for a blood test if still negative.

False negative are really common.

Ok,I thought because my period was 8days lateit was a good time to do a test,but maybe it is a bit early.I'm going to do another tomorrow morning and then ill let you know.thanks so much for your advice and help :)

Hi chuck.. I did another test this morning,its also says negative.I think a blood test is my best option,these home tests are making me crazy.when do you think is the best time to go for a blood test?
