Who was the primary care giver from age 6 - 18?

If you were the primary guardian, why should you pay support? Who was ordered to pay? You said "to the paternal parent" does that mean they were supposed to receive support?

You can not collect any support unless there is a court order for YOU to receive support.

Legally even if not living with the other parent, they keep receiving support till it is taken to court and get it chaged. Too late for charges now.

Whoever the primary care giver while the child was underage is the only person who could legally be eligible for any type of child support.

It's not the primary caregiver. It's what the Court Orders says. This is posted on a fairly regular basis - child lives with one part, moves in with another. First parent still pays the same support he/she paid when the child did NOT reside with him/her.

Only a Court Order can change a Court Order.

I don't understand why the person who had Guardianship never asked for a change in the support Order.

"I have had guardian ship of a child since age 6. She is 22 now. There was a court order for child support to the paternal parent in alabama. Am i legallay obligated to the suppo"

I'm reading that support was Ordered to the paternal parent. You cannot retroactively go back now and change that in MOST States.

It took 16 years to realize this?
