    Help with defamation of character
I was with a non-profit company for three years and I was let go because someone told them that I threaten another co-worker. I was place on suspension for 2 weeks and after a so call investigation I as terminated all from here say. I was given a letter stated that I brought a concealed weapon to the job and threaten and fighting staff. I received a certificate of appreciation on one day and 2 days later a suspension for two weeks and then received a letter only stated that the termination started on the day I was suspended so I would not get the two weeks of pay. Please let me know if I have a case.

This is posted under emotional wellbeing. I think it belongs on the legal board - OR are you asking for emotional support?

If this is legal, who witnessed you threatening the staff and what type of weapon is alleged?

You were suspended without pay for two weeks, right?

Do you know someone's word was believed over yours?

If you didn't have a very well written ironclad work contract... you are essentially an At-Will employee... and they can fire you for any reason... without needing proof.
