My boyfriendon 2003 was guilty with adjudication withheld, for 5 years of probation for intent of touch his stepdaughter of 15 years old, he isn't on probation any more but he has to register, he did not had any other problems, I have kids I don't want lose their custody for his problems but I love him, my kids love him like a father and he is better father than real father of my kids. I want marry with him. I need an advice as soon as possible.

If he needs to register he's on the sexual offender's list. Can he be around children - I am guessing yes if you're allowing him around your children.

You need to find out what level sex offender he is, exactly what the terms of his probation are/were.

What do his papers say? He should know the answer to that question.

Personally, I would be protecting my children at all costs.

Sorry of course the court proved its case, every criminal convicted says they were not guilty. You fell in love and is believing his lies. Wonder who you will believe when your children are molested and she says they are lying because they don't like him,

Sorry you are putting your children at risk, and yes this is easily enough for you to lose custody, even if he is allowed to be around them, your ex can get custody very easy because of this. And honestly since you don't see the issue I hope he does for your children's sake.

How did he demonstrate to you that he didn't do anything bad?

To find out his level of probation ask him.

I'd be mad at the system, too, if I were found guilty of anything. If there was no proof how did he get found guilty?

I'll bet the answer is poor Public Defender.

You can check with the court that convicted him and get a transcript of the trial. You can check with probation office as to the terms of his release. Your state's sex offender web site will show the level.

If I were the father of your children, I would file for a modification of the custody order if you are allowing someone who may have preyed on a 15 yr old girl around my children, especially daughters.

You CANNOT talk this man's word at anything. I'm not saying he's lying, just that you need to independently verify everything he has told you.
