I was almost done with a 12 month probation for a trespassing violation when our family came under scrutiny and our kids were taken by DCS. I somehow ended up with educational neglect charges(we homeschool) and my probation was revoked. I ended up in jail for 200 days. I did not get the chance to dispute this allegation at all I was originally told that it was only 14 days and I would be out but I ended up there or the entire time. First off I was not guilty. My wife had fallen behind due to a serious illness the previous year but was on her way to rectifying that situation. Were my rights violated by this action??

If you were really home schooling and the children had a real education, then your rights were violated, if you had proper permission to home school by your state law.
