    Potty training a beagle
    Hi guys,

I'm having a big difficulty to potty train my 2 months old beagle. Here is the breakdown:

    In the morning
After he eats, I take him outside for about 1 hour, he still won't eliminate. But when I take him inside, after 10 minutes, he did his business at random spot (I have wee-wee pad)

    At dinner time,
after he is done eating, after about 15 minutes, I take him outside again, after about 1 hour, he still won't go, but this time, after we put him on his place (kitchen) he went straight to bed, then he eliminates sometime when we were all sleeping.

I'm using a wooden gate and put him in my kitchen, also, I use a wee-wee pad. He sometimes pee on the pad, and eliminates on the pad, but sometimes when I open the gate during the day, he pee and eliminate at random spot.

I really need some help! I don't want to get rid of the dog.

    Thanks

Wee Pads and newspapers only complicate things. I have trained puppies outside when it was 20 below. I survived by keeping a coat where I could grab it on the way out. Beagles have a reputation for being difficult, but with the amount of poor instructions around, I wonder if it is more a problem of bad technique. Try following the procedure in the sticky, https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251809 The crate can make a huge difference.
