    YouTube plumbing test plug
How do I release the test plug my plumber left in the main clean out located in the garage. It is located in the garage and has warning labels all over it.

A picture would help, is it a balloon, a plug with wings on it, What are the warning labels? More information and someone can help you solve the problem.

If it has a wing nut, loosen the nut and remove. If it is cemented in, carefully break out the inside-don't let the pieces fall down the drain!

    Hi Dana

In my opinion, you don't touch the plug until you give us much more information here, OK?

Tell us about the test plug as mentioned by Puffmugs... a picture would even be better.

Here, if you have a head of pressure (as a result of water in the pipes to test the plumbing) above the test plug, removing it could result in damage to you or the building, so please do be careful here!

Let us know more. Is this a cherne test plug? If so, is there a removable, threaded portion to the plug or is this a purely rubber balloon/plug?

    Back to you...
