Do not get along with brother-in-law
My husband's brother will call and threaten me at least once a year for no reason. I think he is bipolar. My husband never sticks up for me. He states that his brother is a walking time-bomb, and he does not want to start a fight with him. I understand that he does not want to fight. I am just asking for him to talk with him and explain that threatening me is unacceptable. As a result, every time he wants to be around his brother, I get so angry and feel betrayed. Any one else have family issues? How did you work through them? I am at the point where I am ready to throw away my marriage.

If the brother is unmedicated bipolar (is this an official diagnosis?), nothing your husband can say will make a difference. Does the annual rant follow the same line of thinking, or is it always different -- and only once a year?

The guy obviously has issues. If you know he is like this and it's only once a year, deal with it.
