I have a couple Harbor Breeze ceiling fans Model # BDB52WW5P. One day while blowing on high, one of them stopped and started to run backwards at a slow rate. Switching the direction switch made the fan go the correct direction again but it was still blowing very slow. When pulling the pull chain to medium and slow settings the fan seemed to stop all together. My thought was that the cap box was the culprit. So I took the one out of the other fan (which is not used much) and replaced the one in the fan that is used often. It worked fine for an hour or so then did the same thing. Now I have two fans that don't work. Do you know what my problem may be?

That motor may now be shot, put the cap back in the first fan, if it works the other fan is shot or reverse switch is not totally working. Then swap out the good fan.

Well now I've put the Cap box (5 wire black box - 4.5uf, 6uf and 5uf) I took from the fan not used much that worked fine before, I've put it back and that fan (that never had a problem - we'll call it fan 2) now acts the same way as the fan that started all this (I'll call that fan, fan 1). It is as if a burned out Cap set is casing the problem but something about Fan 1 is burning out the cap sets. Is that correct? Should I just replace the now ruined cap in fan 2 and replace fan 1 altogether? What might be wrong with it?
