I'm only 11 years old and my parents got in a terrible divorce my mom cheated on my dad and all I get from my dad is that he tells me that my mom is a terrible person and all she does it drink and smoke and I can't stand hearing this anymore it tears me apart and the worst thing is that he doesn't realize that what he said hurts me I don't know what to do can someone please help me out here I cry everyday because of this and my brother hates my mom and I always have to hear them fight Anymore

And you are not considering how bad he hurts to have this done to him. What do you expect him to say about her, if all of this is true.

Perhaps he should not be always saying it, but at 11 you are old enough to be told the truth of what is happening.

Can you speak to your Dad and let him know that you don't want to hear any more bad things said about your Mom? He is hurt and upset, but it isn't for you to listen to. You also need to talk to your Mom and tell her that both houses you live in have too much arguing and bad things being said. Maybe your parents can take you to family counseling so you can talk to your parents in front of a counselor. If not, please talk to your teacher or school counselor. They can get you some help. I am sorry you are hurting. It is not an easy time for anyone in your family. Everyone is hurting in their own way.
