Is agitation in a Power Steering reservoir OK when idling?
I have a 1997 Honda Accord EX Wagon. 4Cyl, Vtec, AT, AC, I am noticing agitation of the fluid in the power steering fluid reservoir when the car is idling. Is this normal or indicative of a potential problem with the power steering pump?
I have been having some belt squeal up front, applied belt dressing and adjusted belts but this has not fully removed the squeal. I will be replacing the both the exposed front belts soon, but I was intrigued by the agitation in the reservoir.

. Agitation is normal. However, I would take a squeeze bulb and suck out as much old fluid in the reservoir as possible and refill with Genuine Honda Power Steering fluid. Repeat this procedure in two weeks.

. Change all drive belts. Belt dressing is a waste of money.

. Replace the A/C tensioner pulley--the grease has likely dried out and the bearings likely rattle.
