    Petty theft questions- the aftermath
I was charged with a petty theft about 2 years ago, but it was dismissed. I am trying to apply for new jobs and am curious if it is okay to say no to the question asking if you have ever been convicted of a crime? Also, I was wondering if someone were to look up your record that it would just state that it was a petty theft and was dismissed or does it say more details about the crime?

You weren't convicted so you say you weren't convicted of any crimes. That's how it works.

No, the record would say you were arrested and charges were dismissed.
