Our Kenmore model 417-44042400 front loading washing machine will not wash or spin. The pump works to remove water, but since it won't spin, the emptying is incomplete. It does fill with water. I checked the drive belt and it is OK. The inner tub turns with the outer tub. There is a slight buzzing noise when the cycle is calling for washing or spinning. The sound seems to coming from the control panel.

You are going to have to get a meter and track down the problem. There is no way to fix it any other way because there are too many electrical parts. Start by checking the solenoids that initiate the spin cycle. The coils on the solenoids should have between 500 and 3000 ohms. Look for any burned or loose connections, too. Once you get good with a meter you can fix almost anything.
