I have a lien against my ex-spouse's property in cause he defaults on maintenance payments to me. We live in British Columbia Canada. Can he hire a lawyer to remove that lien without my permission?

Sure, he can hire a lawyer.

But whether this lawyer is going to be able to remove the lien without your permission is another question. Generally, he would have to take you to court to do so.
