I have a tub on slab and a drain running vertically out of the slab. The drain/overflow is approx. 8 inch. Away running horizontally. How do I fit a P-trap in without it being an S trap

Hi Iliketea53
You need to break up the concrete from around the drain , dig down to the old PTRAP and relocate the drain so the new PTRAP lines up directly under the shower drain. However, if the PTRAP is deep enough, you may be able to offset the riser out of the old PTRAP using 45 degree fittings... will still need to break out some concrete and dig dirt!
Be sure to check the manufacturer's installation instructions as some recommend setting the shower pan in a bed of structolite or mortar... a very important step to a good, long-lasting installation!
