Etiquette after one and a half dates?
Let me preface this by saying I haven't started a new relationship in over five years. This guy met through a group we're both members of asked me out on Thursday and we went out on our first date Saturday night. We then hung out Sunday afternoon after he called to check up on me. All Monday he texted me and today, Tuesday he hasn't called or texted. Is he waiting for me to text or call him first (I never have but always respond after he initiates contact). I don't want to seem too needy but I don't want to accidentally come off like I'm not interested

Why don't you text him a hello. That is not being needy, just polite.

I would text him. Maybe he thinks you should be the first to initiate the call this time to show you are interested. Good luck and keep us posted!

Kudos on getting out into the dating world again, whatever your reasons are. It's a big scary abyss when you're not used to it.

Definitely take the initiative and make first contact if you are interested-- it's not "needy" or "desperate". Still, if texting just to say hello feels weird to you, maybe you can try sending him a link or photo of something you both find funny, or drop a mention of [insert really awesome upcoming event here]. It's both a convenient way to say "I was just thinking about you" and a built-in conversation starter. Even if all he says in response is "hi."

    Good luck.

I'd bet that he's concerned that he may be texting too much, and coming off as too needy. In other words, he's feeling exactly the same way you're feeling.

So initiate this contact. Let him know that you are interested, and that you appreciate the texts.

No reason to second guess yourself if you really like this guy. Just be yourself, and contact him if the mood strikes. :)

    Good luck.

So I texted him and then he called me and we made plans for tonight. I guess I'm just thinking way too much.

Yup! Don't over think it. If you have to do that, it's not worth it.

Any relationship worth starting flows naturally, allowing both people to be who they are without second guessing.
